MAKE A DIFFERENCE … ONE STEP AT A TIME
2008 WALK-A-THON REACHED A NEW RECORD

Montgomery, AL – The Alabama Kidney Foundation hosted its annual Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Ida Belle Young Park. Over 200 individuals attended this year’s event and around $30,000 was raised to help those suffering from kidney disease in our area.

The 2008 Walk-A-Thon featured a continental breakfast, snacks, live entertainment and fabulous door prizes. There was also a live and silent auction, a children’s area and educational displays to engage the crowd.

All proceeds from the event benefit individuals suffering from this chronic illness. “Alabama has a high occurrence of kidney disease,” says Amy Godsoe, Regional Director of the Alabama Kidney Foundation’s Montgomery Office, “ranking Alabama fifth in the nation.” Each year, we try to raise more money to help those who need our assistance.
